What a roller coaster of a week it has been for our NextGen U10 squad! Coming off the highs of two fantastic consecutive victories, our young stars walked onto the field for their third match with momentum on their side and fire in their bellies.

However, cricket is a game of surprises. Tournament’s third game, we faced a brand-new opponent we’ve never encountered before: the SRCS Spartans from San Ramon. It was clear from the opening overs that the Spartans brought an incredibly advanced skill set to the pitch. They set a massive, looming target of 227 runs.

Instead of backing down, our NextGen heroes stepped up to the challenge.

A Blasting Start and Heavy Pressure

Our chase started with absolute fireworks. Star player Aditya set the boundary on fire with a smashing, blasting four that had the crowd cheering. But the Spartans’ bowling attack was fierce. Aditya was dismissed early, and under the mounting pressure of the scoreboard, wickets unfortunately began to tumble.

In moments like these, it’s easy for a young team to fold. But “give up” isn’t in NextGen’s vocabulary.

Standing Tall Until the Very Last Ball

While the runs didn’t come easily, the determination did. Our players dug deep, defended with all their might, and refused to let the opponent clean them out. NextGen fought through the pressure, staying on the pitch until the literal last ball of the match, finishing at 65/9.

Impact Player: Raina’s Spectacular Show

While it was a tough day on the stat sheet, it was a defining day for our little wonder, Raina. Raina put on an absolute masterclass in courage and grit, earning the title of the Impact player of the show.

• With the Ball: Took a crucial wickets to break up the Spartans’ momentum
• In the Field: Stayed razor-sharp, diving and stopping everything that came her way.

Way to go, Raina! Your resilience inspired the whole team.

Vihaan Sanghavi got the coach’s choice MVP for his fielding efforts that save us crucial runs when we needed it the most.

True Champions Celebrate the Game

A crushing defeat after two big wins can easily demoralize a team, but our U10s proved they are champions of character. Instead of hanging their heads, the kids celebrated the joy of playing. They stayed until the very end, clapped for their opponents, and warmly congratulated the SRCS Spartans on a great performance.

Winning is great, but learning how to face a tough opponent with a smile, grit, and respect is a victory that lasts a lifetime.
