The President’s Day weekend was filled with high-intensity cricket, sportsmanship, and incredible growth as our NextGen Youth Cricket Academy U11 squad took to the fields for the Santa Clarita Valley Cricket Academy (SCCA) President’s Day Tournament.

Coming off a rigorous training block, our young athletes were eager to test their skills against some of the best youth talent in the region—and they did not disappoint.
A Dominant 4-1 Run
Consistency was the name of the game for our U11s. Out of five matches played, NextGen secured four impressive victories. From calculated bowling displays that restricted high-scoring opponents to limited run chases under pressure, the team showed a level of maturity that belied their age.
Our coaching staff praised the quick run-outs, close saves, and improvements in the team’s fielding and middle-over rotations. So many individual performances proved to be the difference maker in several close contests.

Our players dominated the field, winning several player-of-the-match awards.

Individual Excellence: Player of the Tournament
While the 4-1 record was a total team effort, we are thrilled to announce that one of our own, Aarvay Tripathi, was recognized by the tournament organizers as the U11 Player of the Tournament.

This prestigious award is a testament to the hard work, focus, and “spirit of the game” that we strive to instill in every player at NextGen. It is a proud moment for the player, their family, and our entire academy.
Building Momentum
This successful run by our U11s has set a fantastic tone for the rest of the academy. It serves as a reminder that the “repetitive” drills, the early morning sessions, and the focus on fundamentals pay off when the pressure is on.
As we celebrate the U11s, our eyes now turn to the U15 finals. Our older squad is inspired by the success of their younger counterparts and is ready to bring their best to the pitch for the championship match.
